Introduce yourself!
My name is Francois Fasano, I’m a session musician from Belgium based in South West London.
What have you been up to since graduating from ACM?
I’ve just carried on doing what I was doing while studying at ACM. Performing live and recording for different artists/bands as a session guitarist… Pixie Lott for example.
How did you get the gig with Pixie Lott?
A friend of mine called Ben Jones just messaged me one day asking if I was free the next day and luckily I was! He said to me that Pixie Lott was looking for a guitarist. He gave her my number, she got in touch with me and the next day we were in the studio.
What have you got planned for the rest of 2018?
I guess Pixie enjoyed the work I did during that session and asked her management to get in touch with me to MD her gig. So I am now the Musical Director for Pixie and we have a festival run coming up all around the UK through throughout summer. I should also be playing BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend alongside Emeli Sandé which I am really looking forward to!
Do you have any advice for those looking to get in to industry?
I would say try to be around as much as possible, show your face everywhere and be a nice person. That way, people will want to hang out with you and give you the call we are all waiting for!
