It’s been a whirlwind few months for ACM Songwriting and Artist Development graduate, Aniya.
It definitely looks like moving to London from her native Switzerland to pursue her music career is paying off. Since graduating from ACM, Aniya has dropped her debut single ‘Demon‘, which has racked up over 45K streams on Spotify, and the accompanying video has been premiered over on Wonderland Magazine. We caught up with Aniya to chat about everything she’s up to…
Tell us a bit about yourself, why did you want to work in this industry?
“I always wanted to be an artist and I started writing my own lyrics and melodies when I was around 9 years old. I started collaborating with producers and musicians in Switzerland when I was 14 and have been writing, performing and experimenting in all fields and genres ever since. Two years ago I moved to London and it’s been an absolute rollercoaster! All the jobs I’ve been doing here outside of my artistry have been in music. I’ve worked for Metropolis Studios, Dice, Vice and now Sony Music! It’s all been an insane amount of fun and incredibly helpful for my own career.”
What projects have you been working on since graduating from ACM?
“I’ve released my first official track called ‘Demon‘ which has opened up lots of doors for me. I’ve been writing with a lot of different people since, which has been really amazing and I learn something new every single day.”
“I’ve made a video for ‘Demon‘ which premiered through Wonderland Magazine and have just released ‘Demon Part II‘ with a video (see below). The support I’ve gotten from blogs and people around me has been really great… I’m very happy with the outcome!”
Any new releases on the horizon?
“Yes… but, it will be another couple of months until it drops though!”
What are your aspirations for the future?
“I’m reaching for the stars, I always have been and I’m going to work as hard as I possibly can to get to where I want to be.”
Do you have any advice for those who are hoping to join ACM?
“Find your special sound, stick to your guns and focus on writing incredible songs. Everything else is secondary.”
