ACM are proud to announce vocal degree student Emmanuel Dadey has become the latest member of legendary group The Drifters.
Following on from their masterclass in November 2015, The Drifters can’t seem to get enough of the talent on offer at ACM. With Ginnie Breakwell performing backing vocals on an Eagle Radio session with the vocalists and four students performing with the legendary group on their tour, the Drifters have now appointed ACM’er Emmanuel Dadey who is currently on the final year of his vocal degree at the Academy as their latest understudy.
“I received correspondence from Ace that the Drifters would like me to go and audition for the band. I was asked to sing ‘Stand by Me’ and ‘Love Games’ along with one of my own choice which was ‘My Girl’. All went well in the audition albeit I was very nervous where I sang in front of The Drifters and their Manager Kathy Mashadi, accompanied on the piano by Dan Healey their MD. I received a call the following Thursday from Kathy offering me the position. I was very happy knowing that they liked what I had to offer. ”
Emmanual Dadey (ACM Vocal student and Understudy for the Drifters)“We are really pleased to have Emmanuel on board as our understudy for the Drifters – his audition was very impressive and we are thrilled to have such a talented vocalist on board!”
