Get your gowns and mortar boards at the ready. ACM London Graduation comes to the Battersea Arts Centre on Thursday 25th July 2024.

Come and celebrate your ACM achievements with friends, loved ones and the whole ACM family.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you soon. As we finalise details and arrangements with our venue partners, here is some important ACM graduation information and FAQs:

Where and when will my graduation ceremony be held?

The ACM London graduation ceremonies will be held at Battersea Arts Centre, Lavender Hill, London.

Students will be welcomed from 11am to be gowned in order to be seated by 12:30pm.

We will provide more information regarding the specific details as we get closer to the event.

For venue details, see https://bac.org.uk/find-us/

Who can attend graduation?

The ACM Graduation is your official graduation event. In previous years, ACM would hold an ‘End of Course’ celebration, and our students would attend the Middlesex graduation in the following July. ACM students are still able to attend the Middlesex graduation, but now we are able to host our own official ACM Graduation Event!

All students who have received their final award conferred by the Finalist Exam Board can attend graduation in July 2024. Students who have not yet been awarded cannot attend a graduation event until they have been awarded and their grade conferred by the Finalist Exam Board.

Example

If you were due to complete your course in April 2024, but you have either deferred assessments or resits to complete in June or August, you will not be awarded until the next Finalist Exam Board in September 2024. This means you will not be able to attend the graduation event in July 2024, but instead will be invited to the next graduation event (upon successful completion of your outstanding assessments and eligibility for award). You will still be eligible to attend the Middlesex Graduation in July next year.

How does ticketing for the event work?

Unlike many institutions, ACM does not charge for participation in graduation. We provide every graduating student with a ticket of their own, plus up to two tickets for guests, free of charge. Extra guest tickets will be charged at an additional £15 per person and the availability will not be guaranteed. We will make ticket booking for additional tickets available once all graduates have had an opportunity to book their allocated two tickets.

You will need to RSVP for tickets using the graduation booking website.

How do I book my graduation robes?

As part of the graduation ceremony dress code, you are expected to hire and wear traditional graduation robes.

To make the day as accessible as possible for everyone, we have worked with a third-party company, Graduation Attire, ensuring that the hire costs are low.

You’ll be able to book your gowns and robes, along with any photography here.

Is there a dress code?

Graduation is an opportunity to dress to impress. Along with your cap and gown, you are expected to wear smart attire. Casual clothing such as jeans, shorts, trainers or flip-flops are not appropriate to wear to graduation.

Can I reserve particular seats for my family and I?

Graduates will typically be seated at the front of the venue space and will be advised of the seating plan on the day of their graduation. Guests will be allocated seats.

More information about specific seating and allocation will made available as part of the ticketing information.

What if I haven’t paid all of my fees?

If you have any outstanding debt with ACM and you do not already have an approved payment plan in place, we ask you to get in touch with the finance team on 01483 800 500 to make arrangements. If you are unsure about the status of your student finances, please contact the student finance team at studentfinance@acm.ac.uk.

Will we receive our degree certificates on this day?

As per usual University protocol, graduating students will be provided with a prop scroll for photography purposes on the day.

Award certificates are distributed by the awarding body and posted to your registered home address within 4 months of your award being formally conferred at a Finalist Assessment Board.
