The ACM Function Band Development Day was held on the 25th May 2012 at the live music venue The BoileRoom. This day was created by ACM to showcase Function Bands, Duos, Trios and Quartets.

ACM invited down 3 industry panelists to give advice and feedback on the performances and steer them in the right direction.

The Panelists this year were (left to right) Sally Creedon – Function Management & Events, Sam Edwards – Slimfit Music and Nick LeighTailored Entertainment.

“A really productive day with some very talented and professional musicians on show. I’ve already booked one of the guys and look forward to having more ACM musicians involved with Tailored Entertainment.”

“I was really impressed with the level of professionalism and dedication that the ACM function bands displayed on the development day. The bands are obviously getting some invaluable practical tuition from ACM which is giving them the necessary skills to leave college and starting working professionally straight away.”

Carl Moore from the band JukeBox who performed on the day in front of the panel said

“The JukeBox has taken part in the 2 Function Band Development days. Both times we have received great feedback detailing how to take the next steps in making a function band a viable business.

Without this feedback we may not be as far along as we are now. Today we are even working closely with some of the agents that were on the panel and already have professional gigs booked! Thank you ACM.”

ACM knows that the function side of the industry is very important and many students go into this line of work when they graduate. We are very pleased with how this event has gone and what the students have achieved since hearing the panels feedback. We look forward to the next one!
