So as the Olympic Opening Ceremony creeps ever closer, it seems that more of ACM’s drum students (past and present) are going to be involved. ACM have already featured stories on Jack Summerfield and Danny Langston and we thought it only right to acknowledge the nine other ACMers (that we are aware of) involved in 2012’s biggest event – The Olympic Opening Ceremony.

They are in no particular order:

  • Stephen Price
  • Todd Speakman
  • James Paton – “I’m excited to be involved in such a prolific event and very grateful towards ACM for making the opportunity available to students like myself.”
  • James Benwell – ”I think it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am super privileged to be a part of it. Even though it means I have to give up my life and money for 2 months!”
  • Adam Bond
  • Paul Roebuck“It’s the biggest gig you’ll ever play. Even if you’re in Metallica you’re only going to get to play in front of 60,000 at one time.”
  • Ollie Sears
  • Kim de Ram
  • Calum Upton

And just so you want to play spot the ACM Student, here’s a lovely montage of all the individuals listed above!

ACM would like to wish everyone involved in this years Olympic Opening Ceremony, or in any other capacity for this once in a lifetime event. Enjoy your time in the spotlight and remember to smile!
