We’re here for 1-2-1 meetings to offer guidance, facilitate gig opportunities, assist with job placements, internships, provide career advice, and organise events.

Additionally, we endeavour to bring in esteemed guests whose participation adds value, inspiration and depth to your time at ACM.

Labels

Metropolis Blue and Metro Sound are our in-house student-led labels in partnership with the world-class Metropolis Studios in London.

Metropolis Blue is a label for bands, singers and songwriters. Metro Sound is dedicated to electronic, hip-hop, grime and underground music, and aims to support electronic producers and artists. Both labels are partnered with AWAL for digital distribution.

Students can get involved with our labels in 2 ways:

Join the label team. Get involved across all different divisions of a record label, from A&R to PR, design, promotion, booking and more. Learn by doing and gain great experience for your CV.

Release music through Metropolis Blue. Get the full support from a complete label team who will help you develop a plan and strategy for your music.

We hold bi-weekly meetings alongside A&R workshops to discover new talent as well as showcases each term, making sure we keep industry aligned with our plans, releases and signings.

Afrika Green is a talented drummer who graduated from The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM). With a strong passion for music and a focus on drumming, Afrika honed her skills at ACM and now has had the amazing opportunity of drumming for big names such as The Pet Shop Boys, High Contrast, Becky Hill and Fleur East.

Alex Torjussen is a highly accomplished UK-based freelance drummer with credits working with renowned artists like Niall Horan, James Morrison, and Mika. His extensive touring experience has taken him across the globe, performing in a diverse range of venues from intimate clubs to massive arenas and stadiums. Alex has played on esteemed platforms such as Saturday Night Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, MTV EMA Awards, The Voice, KCRW, and has graced iconic venues including Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, and performed at prestigious festivals such as Glastonbury Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Lollapalooza, and more. Additionally, he has recorded with various artists and producers at renowned studios including Abbey Road, British Grove, RAK, The Village Los Angeles, Air Studios, Konk, The Church, and Maida Vale.

Arnau is an exceptional vocalist and vocal coach specialised in contemporary styles. After finishing ACM, Arnau quickly established himself in the music industry as a session vocalist and performer and has worked for artists like Tom Walker, JLS, Benjamin Clementine and Connor Maynard, while also appearing in shows like The Voice and The Voice Kids. In addition, he is a vocal arranger and has created or taken part in compositions for companies like Gillette and Bigo. Arnau's passion for music extends beyond the stage. He uses his expertise to teach in some of the top schools and academies of the country, coaching students for competitions, performances and exams. Arnau’s unique blend of skills make him a sought-after vocalist and a multi-faceted music professional.

Beth Denton, After working as the Head Engineer at Boileroom for a handful of years, has now played a significant role in various other large scale musical events. She has managed sound for the PRS Women Make Music Event at Abbey Road Studio 2 in March 2023. Beth also worked the UK+EU Pentatonix tour with Ellie Dixon, performing in venues up to a 13,000 capacity in May 2023. Her expertise graced Glastonbury PRS stage in 2022 and 2023, as well as Glastonbury BBC Introducing Stage and Rabbit Hole stage in June 2023. In July 2023, she led the sound on the mainstages at Truck Fest and Tramlines Fest with The Bug Club.

ACM opened my eyes to the other genres that I might not have discovered had I not studied here. It also gave me the opportunities to network and build my career. I am now touring all around the world in front of tens of thousands but I will always remember my roots at ACM.

Junior Kusi graduated from the Keys Degree in 2014. Since then he has worked with artists such as Hollie Carmen, Naughty Boy, KYLA, and RAY BLK and endorsed by the likes of Roland and Fusion Bags.
