New Media is a growth industry. The whole world is soaking up a wealth of interactive media, websites, DVDs / Bluerays, TV, Film, Radio, downloadable content and all of these things need sound.

As part of it's Industry focus, ACM has recognised that there is a lot of demand for skilled sound engineers, audio producers, sound designers, composers, musicians, editors, foley artists, sound recordists and many other potential career paths. We have therefore devised the Creative Sound Design degree programme to give you a leg up into the industry with the appropriate skills and connections.

Our tutors are all active in the sound industry, whether it be writing music for Hollywood blockbusters, recording sound for TV shows, generating audio landscapes for computer games, creating interactive audio websites or producing platinum selling records. You will learn all the key skills required to work in this very competitive industry in a fun atmosphere, surrounded by people who are just as passionate as you about sound and music.

ACM has a very good reputation in the sound and music industry and we are often approached by companies looking for employees. We are always proud to provide them with our most motivated and therefore highest achieving students.

Music production

A modern ‘Record Producer’ is likely to be involved in many stages of the production process. Here at ACM our music production courses aim to give students an excellent grounding in a variety of essential music production areas. We feel that this is vital for the growth of a successful producer, whether they aim to work purely on their own material, or work with other artists.

At the ACM Music Production School, tutors work on a wide variety of styles and a broad range of subjects including studio recording, composition, sequencing and business studies among others. The result is that students can be assured of experiencing all areas of the music industry.

With our tutors currently working in the music industry, as well as teaching regularly at ACM, all career advice and individual support is guaranteed to be relevant and current. This kind of advice is ongoing, through lectures and tutorials throughout the length of the music production course.

We run Full Time and Part Time courses at the Production School for different levels and ages, these include:

BA (Hons) Creative Music Production
Cert HE in Practical Music Production (ACM Higher Diploma)
BTEC National Certificate in Music Technology (ACM Diploma)
