Working closely with the Business Development Centre, the Business School provide students on our music business courses with first class opportunities to gain work placements and graduate positions in leading businesses. The first year of the accelerated degree program is underpinned by formal business tools and empowers the student to apply the knowledge they have gained in practical ways both through their assignments and through the opportunity of attending an international business sales conference; a unique addition to the music business course and an opportunity to advance the students integration into the UK and International market place as young business entrepreneurs or managers. The second year of the music business course increases in intensity and provides the student with effective marketing knowledge on all manner of industry projects and the understanding of how to apply such techniques to their own projects. The Law and Contracts module ensures a comprehensive understanding of contractual relationships, deal negotiations together with key areas of risk.
New for 2009/10 is our Higher Diploma music business course which has been specifically designed to introduce and develop your understanding of the Music Industry and its business relationships.
The Music Industry course cannot be viewed in isolation from other content providers and is now an integral part of a global communications phenomenon. The mobilisation of technology has forced extreme changes and attracted innovative entrepreneurial activity and investment in new business models. This changing landscape is constantly moving and the music business tutors, who are all industry professionals, provide a constant analysis of these changes as they occur and affect the development of the industry in which we work.
The Music Business School delivers business modules to all the music performance and music production courses to ensure that all creative talent leaving ACM has a good understanding of the industry, the opportunities available to them and a practical grasp of key organisations that can assist their future music industry career development.
