Tony Platt

Yet another treat for Music Production students. Top-flight music producer Tony Platt, best known for his work with a diverse mix of artists including Sparks, AC/DC, Bob Marley, Iron Maiden, Buddy Guy and Motörhead gave up his time to share some tricks and techniques. Tony taught the students the value of being able to mix it up and work with any genre you are presented with. A great class that was enjoyed by all.

Julian Cox

Julian CoxUber-talented composer Julian Cox came to ACM to offer up his unique talent and experience to an appreciative class of Higher Diploma students. Julian’s past works include scores for TV hits such as Wife Swap, Faking It and Location Location Location as well as music for the recently released film 2 Fast, 2 Furious.

Paul Dakeyne

Remix supremo Paul Dakeyne showed the production students just how it’s done at his recent masterclass. Once described by legendary DJ - Jazzy ‘M’ as “Dakeyne…The Studio Master!”, the British born DJ/Producer/Remixer, whose career spans almost two decades, has produced remixes for the likes of The Fratellis, Madonna and New Order to name a few.

David Tolan and Jim Spencer (Highway Stars)

The super-producers enjoyed answering questions from the students, ranging from their experience working with people such as New Order, Tori Amos and Primal Scream, to more technical questions about their unique production style.

Bert Smorenburg

Possibly one of the funniest clinics ACM has ever seen. Bert was pure entertainment from beginning to end, blending superior knowledge of his Yamaha equipment with a highly-charged and entertaining demonstration. Bert's lecture left students running out the doors and straight into the nearest Yamaha dealer for a brand new work station!

Chris Cozens

Guest lecturer Chris Cozens came by ACM to share his extensive experience and expertise with Diploma and Higher Diploma Music Production Students. With a mind-blowing list of blockbuster movie production credits to his name such as Casino Royale, Blood Diamond, Hot Fuzz, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King it’s easy to see why this was such an awe-inspiring lecture.

MJ Cole and Tim Bidwell

Good friend of ACM MJ Cole was joined by Kate Walsh’s producer and Hardkandy band member Tim Bidwell at a recent Industry Production Showcase held in ACM’s Business Development Centre. The day is designed to give all Music Production students the opportunity to present their material to industry professionals such as Matt and Tim who gave them genuine and useful feedback.
