We have run in excess of 150 auditions, ranging from major label artists right through to function and tribute bands. We are now the first stop for many labels, publishers and management companies when looking for bands or individual musicians. ACM is widely regarded as the UK's premier resource for new talent.

A key event in the BDC calendar, Industry Link is an informal networking arena where ACM artists have the opportunity to start to build their own network of contacts, give demo's to music industry professionals and A&R representatives, and spend time with the BDC team, other staff and students. In 2008 / 2009 we had over 30 industry guests from companies including EMI Publishing, Parlophone Records, SonyBMG, Sony/ATV Publishing, Polydor Records, Mercury Records, Helter Skelter Booking Agency, William Morris Agency, CODA, ASCAP, PRS, MAMA Group, Channelfly, XFM, BBC Introducing, The Agency Group, Crown Music Management, Stephen Budd Producer Management, A&M Records, Decca Records, Peer Music Publishing, AIM and the BPI.

Many students come to ACM with existing projects and soon start developing new original projects. For this we have a dedicated demo review service that gives direct feedback from professional, experienced A&R that can advise on how to take the recording forward. This feedback enables the development of the existing project, feeds into Livelink nights, the student portal, 'Taste of the Talent' CD's and onto third party A&R.

This is a live feedback session where original bands and artists get A&R feedback from a panel based loosely around records / publishing / management / radio / live arena. In 2008 / 2009 we ran five Industry Performance Showcases with 75 slots available for bands and artists to showcase their talents and receive feedback from high profile partners. These included EMI Records, Universal Publishing, The Agency Group, Barfly, XFM, and the BBC to name but a few.

The BDC are programming a number of initiatives to integrate the Production School with the music industry and allow producers access to information on how best to develop their career.

The portal is our shop window for ACM talent. It is a database of all our students, past and present, and serves to be a search engine with which we can seek out the right individuals for auditions and work placements. It also serves as a key communication tool, allowing us to contact all students or tailored groups with the database.
