Neil Simpson, BDC Manager
Neil has been in the BDC since it opened in 2004. He has vast live and recording experience as a singer-songwriter with various bands and as a solo artist. His industry experience includes artist management, live promotion, venue management, label management, and festival production. As a singer-songwriter and gigging musician Neil has supported the likes of Keane, Ray Davies, Newton Faulkner, Kelly Joe Phelps, Gil-Scott Heron, Inspiral Carpets, Shed Seven, Glenn Tilbrook and has also had songs featured in film, TV and games. Neil oversees the artist development programme, all ACM recorded output, work experience and internship initiatives and music industry relationships on behalf of ACM.

Suzi Ireland, Business and Artist Development
Suzi has been working in the BDC for two years. She acquired her BA Honours Degree, whilst writing reviews and editorial for various music magazines. As an avid gig-goer, Suzi has extensive knowledge in the live field, promoting gigs and overseeing event management, as well as working on Artist Development. She lives and breathes music, appreciating anything from krautrock to mainstream pop.

Adam Simpson, Business and Artist Development
Come into the BDC and say hello. Adam’s role is to field your day to day enquiries and hopefully make your day better! As well as working for ACM in the BDC Adam is also product manager for 1Records Worldwide and Worst Case Scenario Records. He studied the Music Business Degree here at ACM and graduated in 2007. Adam has run and promoted his own live and club nights around the south of England, as well as working alongside the likes of Spill magazine and the NME.

Mark Bounds, A&R Consultant
Mark is an A&R consultant to ACM students working on artist development at all levels within the BDC. Mark began his A&R career at Sony Music and has gone on to work with BMG, SonyBMG and Gut amongst others in the UK, Australia, Europe and Japan. Mark has worked with DJs, electronic producers and guitar bands has a wide taste in music.

Chris Parles, Music Industry Skills & Development Manager
Chris completed a BA Hons Music Business degree in the 90’s before setting off on a pop career as an A&R Manager for three Major Record Labels including EMI, Universal and Sony Music. He then did A&R and Marketing consultancy for Universal Music Group in China working on the country’s number one TV show. Chris has worked with artists such as Blue, Atomic kitten,Fame Academy, Robert Plant, Lulu and Natalie Imbruglia as well as various Compilation albums. Chris now lectures on the Music Business modules for Business and Performance schools as well as delivering bespoke Music Business Courses for Major Record Companies. He also works in the BDC helping students gain valuable work experience placements as well as the development of ACM courses.
